RISE continues to work with the City of Jacksonville and the Florida State Fire Marshal regarding their respective investigations into the RISE Doro fire. RISE remains grateful to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department for its fearless efforts to battle and extinguish the fire despite the unfavorable weather conditions. Our attention now turns to the work of demolition, debris removal, and rebuilding. Throughout the demolition and rebuild process we look forward to keeping the greater Jacksonville community informed of our progress. In the near term, we will be providing regularly scheduled updates to media outlets which will also be shared on our website https://risedoro.com/. If information of significant importance should arise, we will notify media outlets as soon as feasible.

As of 6:00PM on Wednesday, January 31 here is what we can confirm:

  • Our first priority is public safety and transparency.
  • We are working in partnership with the City to establish the best demolish sequence.
  • A demolition firm has been engaged and demolition equipment is being mobilized to the RISE Doro site.
  • The installation of fencing around the site has been completed.
  • The City’s structural engineers have told us that the parking garage appears to be sound.
  • The estimated timeline for demolition is 8-10 weeks barring any unforeseen circumstances.
